“DFTBA”

        Along with the dream of having a blog, I have a dream where I am equally passionate about. And it is Vlogging. Vlogging is similar to blogging except it is through videos hence the word “Vlog”. My dream of vlogging was sparked and was inspired by the “VlogBrothers” in youtube (to see it personally just search “vlogbrothers” in youtube ).

  Vlogbrothers is a vlog by two brothers named Hank and John Green. I am inspired by how they communicate with each other as brothers. I think its creative and somehow sweet. Their vlog is more on random things like sharing their fun and interesting experiences separately or together. Ranting about random stuffs and also sharing deep and meaningful life lessons. They have a motto “DFTBA” which stands for  “Don’t Forget To Be Awesome”. This motto is what made the most striking change in my life from the vlogbrothers. For me, this motto reminds us about the “amazing-ness” and awesomeness of life. Despite of who we are, where we are, what race we are or every other thing that makes us different, the fact of us having the complete freedom to do what we want still remains. Although, this perspective will be different among every individuals because of our preordained status. Whether it will be in the aspect of priviliges or race, I want to believe that we can achieve what we want and what we dream. It will only be in a matter of determination and discipline. The hardwork to chase our goals and dream and the discipline of keeping in track. Staying focus towards the goal.

          I, myself, is guilty of always falling victim to temptations and distractions. These blocked and hindered me from reaching my dreams. The laziness and my easily distracted state of mind keeps me from doing the things that I could have done years ago. Case in point, the aforementioned blog and  vlog. This was in my to- do- list for a year now. I could have done this as soon as I wrote it in my list. RIGHT?

So I am trying to make a change for myself. The promise to do myself a favor of doing what I really want. To follow the path I always wanted. This can sometimes be difficult. For me, I took inspirations and confidence from people who have made something from their selves. We can always sip inspiration from people around us that we idolize. People that we look up to. It can be your Tito, your college professor, a celebrity or someone you meet in the internet. What’s important here is that you keep that fire burning. The fire in your heart that keeps your dreams lighting. Although, we should not stop just there. We should not settle and let alone light the fire in our heart. We, in our full effort, should do everything to put log in the fire. Do something. A real output.

So now, I am currently working on my newly established vlog named “Play Games with Vince” which will be all about me playing games with myself. It is actually something great to do one of the things I’m enthusiastic about and share it to the world. As soon as I get the hang of vlogging, I will try to step up. I’m planning to start a channel that talks about psychology and other channels that can help me share my talents and skills to other and somehow, also, will inspire them. Similar to how the vlogbrothers and all other people I look up in my life inspired me. It will be FUN!

        My whole point is to be AWESOME. Awesome in doing what you want. Awesome in being who you are in relation to the person who you want to be and don’t you ever forget it everyday. We should remind ourselves about our capability to be whoever we want to be. The rest of the world will always be there to throw stones at us. Because it may hard to believe but not being normal is totally weird for the society. If you are different, you will be criticized. Eyebrows will raise in your back. People will laugh at you.

       But what matters in the end is ourselves. This is our life. We only get to live it once. Go out travel the world. Have a pet or play your favorite video games. Learn about subjects that interests you. Study your preferred course in your academic life. Take risks. Face challenges. Fend off all the discouragement that will distant you from your dreams. People may call you a vagabond, brainy, weird , a nerd, a geek, or a freak but who cares? Instead of seeing it as judgmental words. We can use it as a reminder that we succeed in what we want ourselves to be. That is what matters.

As what  the Greens say ” Don’t Forget to be Awesome”.
